David M. Still - NC License #7760

Our founding partner, David M. Still, MBA CPA has been in the accounting profession since 1972. He received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1968 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Masters of Business Administration in 1972 from Northwestern University located in Chicago, Illinois where he concentrated in Finance, Accounting and Information Systems.

Before founding Still & Company LLP in 1979, David was the Assistant Secretary and Assistant Treasurer of J.B. Ivey & Company, Inc.(Ivey's) for approximately six years. He was the number two financial officer of this publicly traded Company, headquartered in Charlotte, and was responsible or jointly responsible for all income tax, financial accounting, cash management, insurance, profit sharing, and numerous other financial management functions including Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) and all other US & State Govt. Agency reporting and compliance. During his six years with Ivey's, he also worked independently with the Chairman of the Board, the President, and two Senior Vice Presidents, serving as their personal tax and financial advisor--clients we proudly continue to serve to this day.

Ivey's was an upscale regional department store chain located in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Florida which merged with Marshall Field & Company. Inc and became headquartered in Chicago, Ill. David and his wife Carol elected to remain in Charlotte, start their family, and reside in North Carolina. Accordingly David declined the opportunity for promotion and required transfer to Chicago, instead launching a successful CPA practice and continued to serve the Ivey family and a number of Ivey Senior executives , Belk Store Services, Ivey Properties, Inc.,(a publicly traded REIT) , South Park Mall and a number of senior executives with Belk Store Services.

David is an alum of Arthur Andersen & Company where he served in the Small Business Division working with a diverse group of clients in many industries. He also served as an Internal Auditor with Burlington Industries and has traveled throughout the eastern United States.

David’s particular interests are in start up companies, mergers, and acquisitions, and turn around situations. David's retailing, accounting and taxation experience are complimented by extensive knowledge of the accounting, financial, and income tax requirements of the real estate, construction, and health care industries. He serves clients in each of these industries along with retailers, manufacturers, distributors, and sales organizations. He has worked with tax-sheltered investments, has experience in estate and financial planning, and serves as co-trustee for various private trusts.

Larry Eaker - NC License #3498

Larry Eaker (LD Eaker PC) comes to us from George G. Scott & Company. Many of you will recognize this firm as one of the oldest and most prestigious firms in Charlotte. We are pleased to have him on our team now! Larry brings with him more than 25 years of experience in areas of individual and business taxation and consultation, medical and payroll administration, with a particular focus on the medical industry.

Larry is a proud native of the Charlotte area, graduating from Lenoir-Rhyne College. He is active Denver-Lake Norman Rotary Club and Friendship Trays.
